North Texas construction industry leaders joining together to talk mental health & fight suicide through AFSP's Hard Hat Courage Initiative Construction workers face one of the highest suicide rates of any profession in the United States. The industry that builds our roads, our skylines, and our communities is losing its own people at rates far above the national average — and too often, in silence. Hard Hat Courage is changing that. Launched in May 2025 by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Hard Hat Courage is a national initiative bringing suicide prevention education, language, and tools directly into the construction and trades workforce. Since launch, the campaign has already reached more than 188,000 craft and construction professionals across the country! The Hard Hat Courage Industry Breakfast Launch is a gathering of construction and trades leaders from across our region. Join us for a conversation about what it looks like to prioritize mental health the same way we prioritize physical safety on every job site.
